Nominados a dos premios VES
El Ranchito ha sido nominado a dos premios de la Visual Effects Society (VES) en las categorías de Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature, por La sociedad de la nieve, y Outstanding Animated Character in an Episode, Commercial, Game Cinematic or Real-Time Project, por la criatura Nichevo’ya The Shadow Monster creada para el último episodio de la segunda temporada de Sombra y hueso, titulado Sin funerales. Ambas producciones son de Netflix. Por La sociedad de la nieve están nominados nuestros Supervisores de VFX Félix Bergés, Laura Pedro y Ezequiel Larrú, y por Sombra y hueso nuestros compañeros del departamento de Animación José María del Fresno, Matthieu Poirey, Carlos Puigdollers y Guillermo Ramos. Los premios VES celebran este año si 22ª edición y se entregarán el próximo miércoles 21 de febrero en Los Angeles. El Ranchito tiene ya seis premiso VES: uno por Lo imposible, cuatro por las temporadas 5 y 7 de Juego de Tronos y uno por la segunda temporada de See.

Society of The Snow nominated for two Oscars
Society of the Snow has been nominated for two Oscars in the categories of Makeup and Hairstyling and International Film. J. A. Bayona’s film started with four possible nomination options, as it had also been shortlisted in the categories of Original Score and Visual Effects. Society of The Snow does not stop reaping successes, such as being among the ten most watched non-English speaking films on Netflix or its thirteen nominations for the Goya Awards. The Hollywood Academy will celebrate the 96th edition of the Oscars next March 10, during the early hours of Sunday to Monday in Spain. Congratulations to all the nominees and best of luck to Society of The Snow in its unstoppable awards race!

Nichevo, a particular creature.
The conference shows how we approached and optimized an FX project like “Shadow and Bone” (Netflix), in its second season. We focus on NichevoYa, a creature made entirely of particles that can solidify according to artistic needs.
Through a shot from the series, we show the different processes and difficulties the FX department faced in creating the creature, from preparation to the final result.
